Meeting of the Committee on Health Promotion Network in the Eastern Region by Burapha University

On March 28, 2024, Asst. Prof. Dr. Taweelarp Tansavatdi, Dean of the Faculty of Medicine at Burapha University, and Dr. Wethaka Klinwichit, Associate Dean for Administration, along with the network, held the 1st/2024 meeting of the Committee on Health Promotion Network in the Eastern Region. The network comprises 9 universities participating at MD206 Meeting Room, 2nd Floor, Somdech Phra Debaratana Rajasuda Building, Faculty of Medicine, Burapha University, and via the Zoom Meeting Platform.
 
The meeting of the Committee on Health Promotion Network in the Eastern Region received support from the Thai Health Promotion Foundation (ThaiHealth) to facilitate the expansion of this health promotion network and the development of the potential of Thai universities to lead in health promotion. The objective is to implement a comprehensive framework of university health promotion towards achieving recognition as "Health Promoting Universities" internationally. This initiative aims to ensure sustainable health for personnel, students, and the public through cooperation between Burapha University and universities in the Eastern Region, including Saint Theresa International College, Rambhai Barni Rajabhat University, Trat Community College, Sa Kaeo Community College, Panyapiwat Institute of Management, Vidyasirimedhi Institute of Science and Technology, Rajabhat Rajanagarindra University, and Rajamangala University of Technology Tawan-ok, collaborating to drive health promotion policies through mutual learning exchange processes.
 
The meeting agenda encompasses discussions on the operational plan for developing Thai university networks for health promotion in the Eastern Region, as well as the exchange of insights on health promotion activities. Moreover, seminar sessions will be conducted on "Cultivating a Health Promotion Culture: Promoting Awareness in Mental Health and School Support (Burapha University)" and "Exchange of Student Business Networks within Eastern Region Universities."
 
Dr. Puangtong Inchai from the Faculty of Medicine at Burapha University, Acting Second Lieutenant Supakhan Kaewkamkaset from the Student Affairs Division at Burapha University, and Ms. Montha Anuratsorn from the Student Affairs Division at Burapha University led discussions on the implementation of the Healthy University Rating System (HURS) within the Eastern Region network. Notably, Burapha University attained a commendable 5-star rating in the Healthy University Rating System (HURS) in 2023. Consequently, Burapha University has volunteered to provide guidance to the Eastern Region network universities in utilizing the Healthy University Rating System (HURS) and leveraging the assessment results to advance collaborative health promotion policies.
